Rollout of Bill Discovery makes online bills easier to pay

When they log in, Online Bill Pay customers will see a banner asking them to sign up for Bill Discovery. Those who click “Remind me later” will see the banner again in 90 days.

Online bill paying is now easier than ever for North Shore Bank customers, with this month’s rollout of our new Bill Discovery service, which can automatically find a customer’s bills and add them to the customer’s account for payment.

Created and maintained by Fiserv, Bill Discovery uses an automated biller network to identify bills, once a customer has opted in to the service. The customer can then select their bills from a list of potential payees, and payment details are then immediately added to the customer’s Online Bill Pay account.

Click the image to enlarge it. You can share these benefits with customers to encourage them to sign up for Bill Discovery. If a customer is not already using Online Bill Pay, let them know how great it is to have one place and one password for all their bill-paying needs.

Bill Discovery will continue to search for new bills on an ongoing basis, and email the customer if it finds any. Those bills can then also be quickly added to the customer’s account.

Although Bill Discovery accesses a customer’s credit report to help identify potential payees, using it will not affect the customer’s credit score. Customers whose credit reports are locked will be notified that Bill Discovery cannot access the report.

“Bill Discovery will make paying bills much easier for our current customers. But it also is a powerful tool to make switching banks easier for new customers,” product manager Eric Books said. “Being able to switch your bills in just a few clicks will take away a lot of the stress of changing banks.”

We’re excited to be able to offer Bill Discovery to our customers — it’s one more way to make their busy lives a little easier. If you have questions about Bill Discovery, you can find more information here or talk to your manager. •••

Employees gather for diversity award ceremony

Employees gathered at Jackson Park with the award. From left are Jackson Park teller Nancy Kaye, SVP retail banking Sue Doyle, area branch manager Alfredo Martin, tellers Kerri Velazquez and Alice Rodriguez, personal banker Karen Alvarado, and teller supervisor Lupe Barbosa.

Earlier this year, the Milwaukee Business Journal honored North Shore Bank with a Diversity in Business award in the “Large Company” category. On August 11, the bank officially received the award in a special virtual ceremony at our Jackson Park branch. The event had been originally scheduled for March and was rescheduled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The award recognized the Jackson Park and El Rey branches in particular for their work supporting Latinos in the community, and the larger bank for our support of the Latino community. •••

New Hires for August 27
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Allouez assistant branch manager Carrissa Swiertz is from Green Bay and previously worked as a teller supervisor at Nicolet National Bank. “One of my favorites things to do is go to as many concerts as possible,” she says. “It was a sad year for that, due to COVID-19, but I love going to Alpine to see my favorite band, Dave Matthews. I also go to a different stadium each year to watch the Green Bay Packers play/dominate another team. This year is supposed to be Houston, but I have a feeling it won’t be happening.” •••
