Zoo Boo attendance looks good despite concerns about COVID-19

Kari Tuyls’s son, Max — who turned 5 this week — went to Zoo Boo as the Blue Power Ranger. “He enjoyed seeing the animals as well as all the blow-up characters and funny skeleton decorations,” Kari said.

This year’s North Shore Bank Zoo Boo at the NEW Zoo has been a success, despite fears that COVID-19 would hurt attendance. Zoo operations manager Patricia Jelen reported to the bank that 2,580 people showed up for the first weekend of the event and 2,168 showed up last weekend. “We are also only getting very positive feedback. No complaints to speak of,” she said.

The zoo has taken steps to keep the spooky weekend fun and safe for visitors and employees with social distancing and other safety measures.

Some of district manager Kerri Collins’s relatives came out for Zoo Boo too.

Green Bay East universal banker Kari Tuyls took son Max last weekend. “We had a blast!” she said. “Loved all the decorations and thought everything was set up very well.”

Zoo Boo takes place again this Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24, and next weekend as well. More information and online tickets can be found here.
