The Brookfield Square and Pewaukee branches are collecting Christmas toys for kids in Waukesha. Through December 8, put new unwrapped toys and other gifts in the big red barrel at the branches, and the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County will distribute them to children in time for the holidays. Suggested donations include:
- Mittens and gloves (waterproof is best!) and hats for ages birth to 11
- Books for ages birth to 11, including Spanish or bilingual books
- Disney and Star Wars–branded items
- Infant and toddler toys, especially riding toys for toddlers
- Sleeping bags and blankets
- STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) crafts and activities
The council asks that you do not put gift cards in the collection barrels. If you wish to donate a gift card, instructions are here.
