North Shore Bank employees attended NeighborWorks Green Bay’s 41st Annual Celebration

North Shore Bank employees attended NeighborWorks Green Bay’s 41st Annual Celebration at the Ravine Banquet Hall in Green Bay on Thursday, November 2nd.  More than 350 partners, supporters, and community members gathered in celebration of NeighborWorks Green Bay’s accomplishments over the last year.

Attendees enjoyed a nice dinner and heard testimonials from community members who were personally impacted by the work and mission of NeighborWorks Green Bay (NWGB) over the past year.  A highlight of the evening was hearing the story of one community member who had overcome some tough challenges in life and had a dream of becoming a homeowner. With the help of programs offered by NWGB, three months ago he became a first-time homeowner with the help of Sherry Leanna and North Shore Bank!

NeighborWorks Green Bay is a non-profit organization with the mission of solving housing challenges to build stronger communities.

Emerging Leaders Group volunteers at Urban Ecology Center and Washington Park

The Emerging Leaders Group (ELG) recently volunteered their time at the Urban Ecology Center. The group dedicated a couple of hours to removing invasive buckthorn plants in Washington Park. They managed, bundled, and flagged areas in the park – all while it was pouring rain, making for a fun but soggy time!

North Shore Bank kicks off annual Candy Cane Lane with “Change for a Cure” matching campaign

North Shore Bank will once again help kick off the annual Candy Cane Lane holiday lights display by hosting North Shore Bank Night on Friday, Nov. 24 from 6 PM-10PM!

During opening night, we will be onsite collecting donations at 95th St. between Oklahoma and Manitoba for Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC Fund). Additionally, employees will be on hand to collect loose change for the North Shore Bank “Change for a Cure” drive, in which the bank matches donations.

Anyone who stops at a bank office will be able to count their coins for free and donate a portion or all of the funds to the MACC Fund, which uses the funds to support research at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Children’s Wisconsin, UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, and Marshfield Clinic. The bank will match the donations up to $1,000.

Each season, the West Allis neighborhood of Oklahoma to Montana Avenues and 92nd to 96th Streets is transformed into a festive holiday light display called Candy Cane Lane. The free event will run from Friday, Nov. 24 through Monday, Dec. 25. In addition to donating at the branches listed, visitors can make a MACC Fund donation at Candy Cane Lane throughout the event and can donate online at www.candycanelanewi.com

We are still looking for more volunteers to make the evening even more special. Sign up on Bucketlist to volunteer at Candy Cane Lane here

HEALTHY YOU

Focus on wellness with the gift of time while avoiding burnout

The gift of time

The first Sunday in November at 2:00 AM marks the end of Daylight-Savings Time. This is also the time of year that we gain an extra hour in our day.

November is the beginning of the holiday season and offers a good reminder that the gift of time is truly precious. However you decide to give the gift of time, it will certainly be remembered as a special and unique gift.

Check out the graphic below for a few ideas on how you can share the gift of time with the people in your life!

Beating burnout during the holidays

Burnout can have a negative impact on not only work, but also our relationships and health. But when employees recognize the triggers, signs, and steps they can take to lower their stress, they may be able to lessen the symptoms of burnout.
