Greenlight debit card for kids is perfect for summer

Greenlight is a debit card for kids, managed by parents — but it’s also a powerful mobile app that lets parents easily manage and see where, when, and how much kids spend while helping them learn to manage their money. Best of all, it’s free for North Shore Bank employees, allowing you to integrate financial education into your family life without any additional costs.

It’s three accounts in one — Spend, Save, and Give. A digital chore board. A saving motivation machine. A set of flexible parental controls you won’t get from most banks. And a simple, clear view of your child’s financial world, complete with real-time transaction alerts. 03336 All in one app.

With Greenlight, parents can:

  • Transfer money instantly to kids
  • Turn the card off via the app, if needed
  • Receive alerts whenever the card is used
  • Set store-level spend controls to help kids learn to budget
  • Automate allowance payments
  • Manage chores (and instantly reward a job well done)

Greenlight provides cashless convenience to parents with debit cards for up to five kids. It also features Mastercard’s Zero Liability Protection and FDIC-insured funds up to $250,000.

It’s a great way to teach kids smart money habits that they can rely on for life. Kids can set up spending and saving goals, play Greenlight’s financial literacy games to learn more, and easily receive payments.

Cannot stress enough what a fun, great tool this is for teens! Ray at Southridge noted the wonderful features, and that it is fee-free for NSB. Plus, since you load it, and it’s not tied directly to the bank account a la a debit card, there’s a bit more security in it. (Yes, I know it’s FDIC-backed)

My teenage daughter has been loving it. Bravo.
