Bank team celebrates World Giraffe Day at the Racine Zoo

The booth is all set up and ready for guests at World Giraffe Day. Kathleen White, Cudahy branch manager, and Kathy Couture, Westgate lead teller, are ready!

A team of bank employees celebrated World Giraffe Day at the Racine Zoo on June 22. North Shore Bank sponsors the Giraffe Encounter at the zoo, so it was extra fun for the bank team to be part of this special event.

Attendance was steady, and many guests were excited to feed the giraffes. Unfortunately, it started to rain during the second half of the event, but guests came under the bank tent to chat and participate in some crafts.

“It was a fun event,” Lisa Young, Racine branch manager, said. “We had a few clients come by and visit and say they love that their bank is out and about in the community.”

Zoo staff educated visitors on zoo conservation while bank employees gave out zoo feeding tickets, did a fun craft with kids, and handed out goodies to the adults and kids. Northside Lead Teller Kelly Elliott drew an awesome mural on the ground of a giraffe for the event, and guests loved learning about North Shore and our history with the zoo and the community.

Little ones decorated giraffe hats as part of the day’s fun events.

In addition to Lisa and Kelly, Cudahy Branch Manager Kathleen White and Westgate Lead Teller Kathy Couture took part in the event.

COMMUNITY-MINDED

Shorewood branch puts focus on kids’ fun at cycling classic

Erika, Ann Marie, David, and Shannon at the booth.

The Shorewood Criterium Cycling Classic celebrated its 20th year in June, and, as in years past, North Shore Bank sponsored the kids’ race.

North Shore Bank set up a bike-decorating station, allowing kids to add a personal touch to their bikes. “The bike-decorating experience was so popular!” Shannon Weber, Shorewood branch manager, said. “I am so glad kiddos had fun with that.”

The bank also had exciting giveaways for the young racers, with Culver’s frozen custard waiting for the almost 300 finishers. 03057

“I love that we can participate and do this,” Shannon said. “It is an opportunity for us to talk and interact with the community.  Even though rain came and gave us a scare that the races could be cancelled, it did not stop the kiddos from coming out and enjoying the day, and their races.”

Shannon noted that this year’s was the biggest turnout she’s ever seen for the event!

Helping at this year’s event were Erika Garcia, video center teller; Ann Marie Krecak, AVP,  assistant controller; David Holada, Cudahy lead teller; Shannon; Shakara Bobo, commercial lending services analyst; and two Shorewood branch interns, Fabian Cornelio-Munoz and Vidal Ojeda.

Great job to all involved!

Employees hit the beach to spread kindness in Pewaukee

Rachel Rasmussen, marketing data analyst, took a Polaroid snapshot for party-goers.

Employees enjoyed some fun in the sun on June 21 and 22 at the Pewaukee Kiwanis Beach Party presented by North Shore Bank. All proceeds from the event are distributed back into the community through charities and grants.

Bank employees engaged party-goers with the bank’s Polaroid cameras, played games like Connect4 and Jenga, and offered kindness postcards. It was a fun way to connect with the community and enjoy summer at the same time!

Lily Schwigel, Pewaukee branch teller, and Rachel Rasmussen set up for fun day at the party.
