Nearly 2,000 people showed up for the children’s ice cream social our Illinois State Bank branches sponsored again this year at Veterans Memorial Park in the heart of downtown McHenry. The social is part of McHenry Fiesta Days, a weeklong extravaganza of music and food.
To make it extra fun for youngsters, the social included balloonists, face painting, performing animals and many games. Pint-size visitors could get temporary tattoos of Seymour Savings and play with puzzles while Mom and Dad had an opportunity to learn about our bank and enter to win a Zoo Family Pack.
This year marks the 64th that the weeklong celebration has been held in the heart of downtown McHenry. The parade, carnival rides, food, craft fair, river run, car show and drum and bugle corps competition ensure there is something for everyone. Sponsoring the family ice cream social provides a fun way to show our community spirit and let people know about our branches and services.
