Our cavalcade of holiday traditions continues! BSA Compliance Specialist Jennifer Mooney and her kids share a fun one every year:
Here’s a tradition I started with my oldest daughter on Christmas Eve and have continued with my two younger children: We sprinkle “reindeer dust” in the yard so Santa’s reindeer will be sure to find our house from high up in the sky. I fill a baggie (the cute decorated ones they sell during the holidays are perfect) with some dry oats with just a bit of glitter. The kids have a great time sprinkling the dust and don’t even mind the cold!
Northland CSR Erika Meyer and her family remember the people making it possible for them to celebrate in safety:
Every year my family and I start baking Christmas cookies at the beginning of November. We keep making them until Christmas Eve, and then we hand out plates of cookies to the fire stations, hospitals and police stations in town, so that those working for us on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day have some treats.
And Northland BCSM Krissy Bowe and her family make a special trip to add to the magic of the season:
We started going to a tree farm to cut our Christmas tree a few years ago. It makes for such a great day spending time with family. We go to a place that is a nice drive out of the way, pick out our “perfect” tree and then finish the day off with some hot cider.
