Shorelines editor passes the torch

Kathy Watson

December 2012 marked the beginning of my 15th year gathering information and writing and editing stories for Shorelines. I have met so many great people — although many only electronically — and learned so much about the multiple facets of banking and your unique brand of customer service. The culture of excellence fostered at every level of North Shore Bank has contributed to your unwavering success.

Now it’s time for me to step back and pass the torch to a new editor. I met Josh Wimmer two years ago, and knowing this day was inevitable, I invited him to begin helping with stories. As my instincts promised, I found Josh to be a quick study, a competent writer and editor, and an all-around nice guy. After he had been involved with Shorelines for a year, I spoke with Molly Schissler about her impressions, and she agreed that Josh was capable of taking the reins and providing a smooth transition.

So at this out-with-the-old, in-with-the-new time of year, I’m pleased to let all of you know that Josh is officially at the helm of Shorelines. I will continue to write a few stories from time to time, but my role will be significantly diminished.

Sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you who have made my years of serving North Shore Bank so interesting, gratifying and truly joyful. You’re a class act.

Warmest regards,
Kathy Watson

Kathy, I really enjoyed working with you on the Shorelines over the years. You taught me quite a few things about editing that I never knew before which I thank you for. Who ever knew there was a book that could tell you the proper way to use commas!
Truly, your professionalism and attention to detail made the Shorelines unique and interesting to read for our employees.
Enjoy your retirement and stop in and say hi when you’re in the neighborhood.

    Kathy,

Yes, I remember when NSB first used your services 15 plus years ago, before the electronic explosion and we (marketing and yourself would edit the old way – by paper/pen and pencil, developing through various stages, models adn delivery to what now has currently become the present Shorelines.

It’s been agreat pleasure on working with and getting to know you thru the years, enjoy the sunshine and semi-retirement.

    Always,
    Ron Pritchard

I just want to say I’m honored that Kathy chose me to carry on her good work here, and for the opportunity to work with the people at North Shore Bank. She told me from the start what a great place it was, and every experience I’ve had working on Shorelines over the past two years has only served to confirm that. My thanks to her and to all of you.

I truly have enjoyed our electronic friendship and will miss you. I hope you will be continuing your “Fearless Editor” column, as I have learned a great deal from it (gee, I hope I’ve used my commas, quotation marks and parentheses properly). Thank you and welcome Josh!
