Dash for Cash at Gamblers game raises more than $7,000 for schools

On Jan. 19, we partnered with the Green Bay Gamblers hockey team for a “Dash for Cash” that raised more than $7,000 for school programs in northeast Wisconsin. Elementary, middle and high-school teachers wrote essays to the Gamblers explaining how they’d use the funds, which were donated by North Shore Bank and the team. The team chose 14 teachers, who came out on the ice between periods to race for a pile of $1 bills and grab as much as they could. See for yourself how that turned out:

“On your marks…” Teachers get ready to run for the money.

The participants literally threw themselves into the game.

Emotions ran high, as the teachers scooped up as much cash as they could.

Marketing Coordinator Mary Ott announces the total amount of money donated and talks about how North Shore Bank helps its communities.

Teachers came away from the Dash for Cash with a nice haul, all of which went to their particular program.

The teachers also had the opportunity to sell tickets to friends and family who could serve as their personal cheering section. For every ticket thus sold, the Gamblers donated $3 to the individual teacher’s program.
