Fair lending — it’s not just for loan originators! Fair lending begins with YOU, whether you are a lender, a teller or a senior manager. Each of us, as employees of the bank, contributes to the process of fair lending. We all need to treat our customers and prospective customers fairly and consistently. Every person is important and should be provided with the high level of service North Shore Bank is all about.

North Shore Bank is committed to the practices of fair lending. Here is how you can help the bank ensure fair lending for all:

Each employee should offer assistance, encouragement and service in a fair, equitable and consistent manner — not just in regard to lending products, but in regard to all of North Shore Bank’s products and services.

North Shore Bank is committed to making its credit and lending products available to all qualified applicants, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, marital or familial status, age (providing the applicant is of legal age and has the capacity to enter into a binding legal contract), handicap, receipt of public assistance or good faith exercise of rights under the Consumer Credit Protection Act or any other prohibited basis.

Bank employees should never discourage the completion or submission of an application for credit by any applicant for any of the prohibited reasons outlined above.

North Shore Bank devotes special attention to the credit needs of low- and moderate-income neighborhoods and undertakes specific activities to encourage a wide range of customers to approach the bank’s offices and consider us a financial service resource.

Fair lending — it’s just the fair thing to do!
