North Shore Bank employees have been sharing their favorite summer traditions and memories:
“We love to travel up to Sturgeon Bay and hang out at Wave Pointe Suites and Riley’s Point. Soft breezes, boats, fishing, the kids swimming and Gramma’s cocktail hour (precisely 3 p.m.) make for a nice family event,” writes Southwest PB James Gottemoller. “Our second-favorite thing is to get off the main road and explore areas of the state we have never been to. We went to the cow chip toss and parade up at Sauk City, and we have been to Cambridge and strolled the shops. On a rustic road near the Laura Ingalls Wilder cabins in northwest Wisconsin, we crossed a river in two places where there was no bridge — it was customary to simply ford across. One fording was small, but for the other, I had to put the truck in 4×4 mode so we wouldn’t get stuck.”
“My favorite summer activity is going camping with my family,” writes Pewaukee Teller Megan Block. “We always enjoy the outdoors and spending time together, and we always have a story to tell when we leave. I also enjoy going to amusement parks, summer festivals throughout the Milwaukee metro area, taking walks and starting up big ol’ bonfires in the backyard with family and friends!”
And Traveling Teller Christine Barsuhn says: “Since my husband and I moved here about three years ago, we’ve loved going to Brewers games. We love how much camaraderie the fans share. For us, the games remind us of summer days spent in the parking lot tailgating with friends and enjoying beer and brats — responsibly, of course. We live close to the stadium, so we usually walk to the games, taking in the warm weather, and knowing how soon it will leave us for yet another six to nine months.”
