Branch awards scholarship to civic-minded high schooler

Grafton Branch Manager Bridget Sobocinski presents the scholarship to Trevor Nauta.

Grafton Branch Manager Bridget Sobocinski presented a scholarship to a high-achieving student at the recent Grafton High School Scholarship Presentation Ceremony.

The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, community service, participation in school and community activities, and the student’s intent to pursue a career in Business or Finance. North Shore Bank has been presenting our annual scholarship for 15 years.

Our candidate this year, Trevor Nauta, has been active in his church youth group and held many leadership roles in school and community organizations, including being elected Senior Class President and President of the Leo Club, where he has led service activities and organized volunteer events. He was a member of the National Honors Society, has more than 165 hours of community service,  was team captain in Cross Country and varsity Track and Field, participated in band, served as a student mentor to incoming underclassmen, and maintained seven semesters of a 4.0 GPA.

Trevor plans to enter a four-year college to pursue degrees in finance and political science. He hopes to be an elected official in Grafton after he graduates college. He believes in giving back to the community and wants to serve a growing constituency where their voices and opinions are at the forefront of issues. 02159

Congratulations to Trevor on this achievement!
