Diana Villanueva to retire after a full career in banking

Diana Villanueva and her husband, Enrique, look forward to taking some short trips together in retirement.

Jackson Park Teller Diana Villanueva has been working in banking for as long as she’s been married to her husband, Enrique—48 years! Diana, who started working right after high school, is retiring at the end of this month with a lifetime of good memories in this industry. Originally an employee of Layton State Bank, she started with North Shore Bank after the acquisition eight years ago.

Diana said she was interested in banking because she enjoys helping customers meet their financial goals. She likes getting to know her customers, and for the past two years, she’s been helping older adults at the Village at Manor Park senior living with their banking needs. “Most are not mobile enough to get to the bank, and some don’t have any family to help them,” she said.

Working alongside her North Shore Bank coworkers has been a pleasure. “They are all special and make it easier to work day to day when we work together as a team,” she said. “It is always nice when another team member helps out when one is having a difficult time.”

Jackson Park Assistant Branch Manager Claudia Romo-Verdin said Diana has always been a pleasure to work with and will be truly missed. “I would like to thank Diana for her dedication all these years and her continued support in assisting with the Senior Center. I’m certain that our seniors will surely miss her,” she said. “The Jackson Park staff and I would like to extend our appreciation and best wishes for a happy and very well-deserved retirement.”

In retirement, Diana plans to spend more time with family, including her mother, who recently turned 90. She also looks forward to taking some short trips with Enrique, who has been retired for several years.

Congratulations on your long career, Diana, and enjoy your retirement!
