Burlington Teller April Keel shares her love for a whole series — and the first installment has a highly appropriate title for those of us in the banking industry:

My favorite book is One for the Money, by Janet Evanovich. It is the first of a series of 19 novels (as well as four novellas), and yes, I do own them all. It introduces you to main character Stephanie Plum, who has just lost her job, had her car repossessed, and has no money. Desperate for employment, Stephanie goes to work for her cousin Vinny as a bounty hunter. She goes on this crazy search for her first “FTA” (someone who has “failed to appear” in court) — and he just happens to be the same guy who took advantage of her years ago. Stephanie is pushed to the limit and gets herself into some crazy predicaments, not just in this book, but in all the rest, too. One for the Money will have you laughing out loud throughout the entire read.

And Fox Point Teller Sara Rivas keeps her suggestion short and sweet:

My favorite recent book would have to be Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen. It’s a touching story about a man who worked with a circus in his younger days. I love how the author weaves the tale by alternating between scenes from the main character’s youth and others set in the current day.
