Last week, we asked you to share what you’re thankful for with Shorelines. It’s no surprise that we got some beautiful responses. Here they are:
“I am thankful for the excellent care my grandson, Elijah, is receiving at the Children’s Hospital Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit,” writes Vice President Phil Wade. “Elijah was born in October at 15.2 ounces, 11 inches long and 14 weeks early. While most may consider it a tragic experience for a first grandchild, I am truly amazed and grateful that I am able to witness firsthand the miracles performed daily at the NICU, not only to sustain a life, but to nurture and enhance the needs of the family. Having a daughter with medical issues and a medical background has helped me to be better prepared than most for whatever the long-term outcome will be for Elijah, but the hospital staff have taken me to a new awareness in not only providing the best medical care for him, but also caring for the emotional needs of the family. They have even nominated my daughter to be part of the NICU staff in a volunteer capacity, as a counselor for parents in very similar situations.”
Union Grove Branch Manager Lisa Brooks writes: “I am thankful for a husband who loves me unconditionally, a family that supports me, friends who make me laugh and keep me grounded, co-workers and staff members who are like a second family, and a life filled with travel and adventures.”
And Green Bay West Teller Noelle DeWitt writes: “There have been so many changes in my life this year, from moving and living alone for the first time to going back to college full time while working full time. I wouldn’t be able to do it all without such a wonderful support system. I am thankful that my manager and co-workers support me going back to school and are willing to work around my schedule. I am also very thankful for my friends and family for cheering me on while I try to balance two jobs and school. My boyfriend Josh is my rock and takes great care of me. I am thankful that God has brought him into my life, along with so many other amazing people! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!”
Seconded — happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
