Bank employees help at Candy Cane Lane; about $10K raised so far

West Allis Teller Maggie Bernal and Seymour Savings greet Candy Cane Lane visitors on North Shore Bank Night on Nov. 29.

West Allis’s Candy Cane Lane is back and welcoming all who want to experience the holiday spirit. It’s free to drive through the neighborhood of more than 300 homes decorated with serious holiday lights, but visitors are encouraged to donate money to the nonprofit MACC Fund, which supports research to cure children’s cancer.

Southwest Teller Todd Mahutga, West Allis Branch Manager Sara Swosinski, Southwest ABM–Operations Stephanie Hallgren, Southwest PB Jim Gottemoller, Kevin Zsori and West Allis Teller Supervisor Christine Barsuhn pose around the donation-tracking sign. Here’s hoping it’s all filled in by the new year!

As in past years, North Shore Bank employees helped out at Candy Cane Lane. Opening night on Nov. 29 was “North Shore Bank Night” and saw about $1,500 in donations come in, Southwest Branch Manager Kevin Zsori says. “We are currently at about $10,000 after five nights,” Kevin wrote in an email on Wednesday.

Maggie, local neighbor Ken, Seymour, West Allis PB Stephanie Bluemel and Southwest Teller Laurie Knodl help out on opening night.

Last year, Candy Cane Lane took in more than $100,000 for the second year in a row.

A sign at the exit thanks visitors for passing through Candy Cane Lane.

Candy Cane Lane will be open through Dec. 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. weekdays and from 5 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. You can find directions on the official website.
