Two employees offer inspiration and a time-saving exercise tip

VP Brian Gold has written about his efforts to stay motivated and get in shape several times for Shorelines. He sent in the image above for a dose of inspiration for whoever needs it. Brian, of course, doesn’t just talk the talk. He doesn’t even just walk the walk — he runs the run! You can read about him training for the Chicago Marathon in 2012 and, in a post he wrote last summer, how he fell in love with running and the role a sense of drive has played as he’s grown as a runner.

But you don’t need to prep for a marathon to improve your health — there are simpler things you can do, too. Mortgage Loan Originator Rebecca Madsen shared this great tip for the 2014 Weight Loss Challenge: “So, I have started doing squats while I brush my teeth. My electric toothbrush goes for two minutes. That is just about enough squats to feel a good burn. I figure every little effort helps.”

That’s an awesome idea (and it works!). Thanks, Rebecca!

The North Shore Shape Up 2014 Weight Loss Challenge is up and running! While the challenge is going, Shorelines wants to bring you stories of bank employees who’ve lost weight and improved their health, or great advice on how to do so. If you have a story or tip you want to share — or know someone who does — email shorelines@northshorebank.com.
