Adam Graf
Personal Banker, Menasha
How long he’s been at North Shore Bank: Since June 2008.
How he got into banking, and what he did before: I was selling insurance door-to-door, traveling every day, being gone 12 hours a day. It just wasn’t what I wanted for me and my family. I’d always been interested in banking — my mom was a small-business owner when I was younger, and I helped her do her books. I saw the opening online, and Deb Cumming interviewed me.
How it’s worked out since then: It’s a very fulfilling job. You take it one day at a time and keep the customers first and foremost in your mind. There’s really no losing in this job.
Family: Wife Sam. Daughter Aydann, 3. Son Cooper, who’ll be 1 in July. Boxer named Sadie.
What Adam has been into lately: I spend all my time with my kids — that’s my hobby. Everybody told me they grow up faster than you think, so I just don’t want to miss any of it. We love going to the park. My daughter enjoys cooking with me — she doesn’t care what. Pretty much, I just let her stir. She’s a singer and a dancer — she’s gonna be a diva.
Does his daughter get her diva qualities from him? Lemme see. [Yells to ABMO Jill Heule.] Jill! Am I diva? [Pause.] No, Jill says I’m not a diva, and if anybody were gonna say I was, it would be her.
When Indiana Jones bought him a drink: I was at a tavern down in Oshkosh during EAA, and Harrison Ford walked in. Everybody in the bar swarmed to him except me. I figured he was there to have a drink and he wanted to be left alone. About a half hour later, the bartender came over with a Captain and Coke and said it was from Mr. Ford. I looked over at him, and he invited me over and said, “Thank you. You were the only one who didn’t rush me.” And then I had my drink!
