Gratitude, humility mark Dennis Christoffel’s 35-year service anniversary

VP Dennis Christoffel marked his 35th anniversary with the bank yesterday.

“I remember my first day at North Shore Savings and Loan. Was that just yesterday … or was it last week?”

Dennis Christoffel, VP–Investment Program Services, can’t believe it has been 35 years since he replied to a blind ad in a newspaper. A former teacher, he was hired to develop and launch North Shore Bank’s Retirement Program Services Department. He enjoys his role helping people plan for retirement every bit as much today as he did when he started.

Although he is proud of his North Shore affiliation and still loves coming to work every day, his humility reigns when it comes to recognition for his contributions and accomplishments. Dennis insists that we limit our coverage of him to this:

Dennis was blessed to be in the right place at the right time. He is grateful that North Shore Savings and Loan Association ran a blind ad and that he responded.

For the past 35 years, he has worked tirelessly to be North Shore Bank to all of our deferred compensation savers. He truly loves what he does, the people he works for and with, and all of those he serves.

He considers these elements key to a gratifying, long tenure:

• Be completely open and honest with everyone you encounter and serve.
• Treat others as you would wish to be treated.
• Never perform a task to less than 100 percent of your ability.
• Become North Shore Bank to every person you meet.

This from Dennis says it all:

“When you enjoy what you do, when you love and become a part of the company and people you work for and with, and when you sincerely enjoy the vast majority of your clients, it does not get any better than that.”
