Customers enjoy low-key Harvest Fest at Sussex

Sussex’s eighth annual Harvest Fest on Oct 17 was a little quieter than usual, but still a good time for those who attended.

“We were undecided as to whether we were going to do it or not, but we had many customers asking if we were going to have pumpkins and games for the kids again this year,” Branch Manager Candy Walecki says. “Apparently, it is something that customers do enjoy.”

Lisa Prechel, wife of Webmaster Tim Gluth, helped out with the Plinko game, with assistance from their sons.

The branch had more than 100 pumpkins to give away to visitors. “We usually run out, but the day was a bit gloomy, so we did not get as many people stopping in,” Candy says. “We donated the remaining pumpkins to the Sussex Food Pantry, since they were pie pumpkins.” The pantry accepted the pumpkins happily.

Besides the pumpkin giveaway, there were games for visitors, such as Plinko and mini golf. The event was low-key, Candy says, but the branch did collect a lot of worn flags for the bank’s annual flag retirement ceremonies. Many thanks to the whole Sussex team, who helped out with Harvest Fest.
