For the past three years, Green Bay West has put up a giving tree for Heaven’s Touch, a nonprofit that helps single pregnant women and single mothers with housing, parenting, education, and employment. The branch gets ornaments with children’s names, ages, clothing sizes, and gift ideas. Customers and employees can then pick a name from the tree and get that child a gift. This year, the branch got names of 30 children, ranging in age from 3 months to 17 years old. Some of the kids wanted traditional toys, but there were also many who needed pants, socks, and underwear.
“Our customers and staff have been so generous with giving gifts to these children,” says Assistant Branch Manager–Sales Hali Thompson. “This year was especially nice because there were about eight names left and we rallied and all pitched in to make sure that all the children had gifts to open for the holiday. All the generosity got us all in the holiday spirit!”
Ashwaubenon also bought gifts for kids for Heaven’s Touch. “The staff all took ornaments and purchased gifts for the children,” reports Branch Manager Mistine Thomson.
