Do better business on the phone immediately
The people you need to reach likely don’t have time to waste. The North Shore Bank blog has some useful tips for quick and effective sales and business communication over the phone.
In summary, whether you’re speaking to a human being or leaving them a voice mail, you want to: (1) open with something that will grab their attention; (2) share the benefits of whatever you’re calling to offer, rather than other, less important details; and (3) close with a request for action, whether that’s asking for follow-up on the sale you just closed or an appointment to speak again in the future. Service Anniversaries
You can congratulate your coworkers on their anniversaries in the comments.
“I can’t believe it has been 10 years already,” says Infrastructure Specialist Jason Roloff. “Working for North Shore Bank has been an exciting opportunity for me, and I am so privileged to have been offered this position. I look forward to many more years with this excellent company.”
“The best part of my job is the people I work with,” says Product Analyst Sherri Scalish. “We have a very unique blend of people in our department, and yet we all fit so well together. I can’t believe it has been 10 years already! I can honestly say that I have never been bored.”
Kudos
Here are some of the great comments we’ve heard from our customers. Thanks for making this the Bank of You!
“My experience with North Shore Bank over the last 15 years plus has always been very customer-oriented. I’m always greeted with a smile and always waited on as promptly as possible.”
“Been banking at North Shore for over 30 years. I would go nowhere else.”
“On ‘Free Shredding Day,’ I arrived after the branch’s bin was full. They referred me to another location that could take my stuff. When I got there, they were almost closed, but an employee saw me coming and opened the door so I could bring my stuff in!”
North Shore Shape Up
Watch out for summer weight gain: Summer may be swimsuit season, but for many of us, it’s also unfortunately full of opportunities to pack on extra pounds, thanks to ice cream, drinks on the patio, and other treats. Health.com has a good list of ways to help avoid getting heavier during the warmer months, including:
- Be careful of sweetened beverages. Hot weather makes an icy Coke or lemonade taste great — but that’s still a lot of sugar.
- Remember that “treats” still count. You may tell yourself that cotton candy at the state fair or margaritas on the boat are OK, because you’re trying to unwind and have fun — and they are. Just keep in mind that your body won’t store those calories differently.
- Beware of frozen yogurt — in some ways, it is more nutritious than ice cream. But it’s not really healthier, and it will still go straight to your thighs.
