30 years at North Shore Bank: Jeff Wagner

In three decades with North Shore Bank, Credit Analyst Jeff Wagner has learned to value adaptability. Every day and every customer bring with them their own specific challenges — but that’s also what keeps the job interesting, he says. “Every customer is a little bit different. It’s kind of like a puzzle, and everyone’s puzzle is a little bit different,” Jeff says. “You have to embrace it versus complain about it.” In an interview with Shorelines, he talks about how coaching and officiating basketball can be like banking, what he wishes he’d known about computers, and good live music.

Around the Bank

How cute is your pet? In conjunction with our recent Elmbrook Humane Society Wagfest fundraiser, the Corporate Community Outreach Committee is holding a Cutest Pet Photo Contest.

Send a photo of your pet to the CCOC at photos@northshorebank.com. Deadline is next Thursday, Sep 24. The winning photos will be published in a future issue of Shorelines.

We have a number of great comments this week from our customers. Thanks for making this the Bank of You!

Jessica Cranley at Westgate is the best!”

“I like the fact that you have a branch open in El Rey during off-peak hours.”

“All of the tellers and associates at my branch know me by name and are always friendly and helpful.”

Acai berries — a superfood? You may have heard about acai berries — it’s pronounced (ah-sigh-EE) — which are said provide powerful health benefits to those who eat them. They do contain more antioxidants than other common berries, and lots of fiber and some healthy fats, and that’s good. But be aware that, according to the Mayo Clinic, many of the health benefits of acai haven’t been proven. And do talk to your doctor about consuming acai berries if you’re taking medication for high cholesterol or diabetes, or if you have kidney disease.
