Vote for North Shore Bank’s cutest pet!

Brace yourself for an onslaught of adorableness — more than 50 of the bank’s sweetest dogs, cats, and other critters are competing for your affection and admiration. Check out these photos and place your vote for the cutest pet. Only one vote per employee, please! Voting will close next Wednesday, Oct 7, and we’ll share the winners in next week’s issue of Shorelines. This won’t be easy — there are a lot of darling animals to choose from. Good luck, and godspeed.

Around the Bank

Hot Diggity Dog! Corporate held a “Hot Diggity Dog” cookout on Sep 25 to benefit the Elmbrook Humane Society, bringing in $820 in cash donations and four boxes of wish-list items. Employees enjoyed a hot dog lunch — thanks to expert grillers Roger Arnesen, Keith Springer, and Kinnon Schreiber — Plinko and a soda ring toss, and a visit from EHS volunteers and puppies. The Corporate Community Outreach Committee thanks everyone who participated! Barb Wisneski, AVP/Commercial & Consumer Loan Closing Manager

Suamico groundbreaking: On Sep 24, North Shore Bank broke ground on its newest branch, at 1838 Cardinal Lane in Suamico. The 1,750-square-foot branch will open to the public in spring 2016, and will feature an updated design concept and new technology.

Heart walk: On Sep 20, four teams from North Shore Bank took part in the Milwaukee Heart & Stroke Walk, raising almost $6,300 for the American Heart Association. See the walkers in action here!

Super Saturday: Union Grove was a sponsor of the town’s Super Saturday event on Sep 12, which featured booths and activities from local businesses, nonprofits, and craft vendors. The bank provided marketing materials, and Branch Manager Amy Sweet helped out on the event committee. “There was a constant stream of people walking up and down Main Street — most of whom were carrying North Shore Bank shopping bags!” Amy reports. Teller Supervisor Tiffany Duck, MLO Pam Lanting, and Personal Banker Christine Nielsen helped out, and customer Trevor Ludwin (whose aunt Donna Brietchaft works in the CSC) played Seymour Savings.

Flag collection: Our annual worn flag collection begins this Monday, Oct 5, and will run through Oct 23. Please try to get photos of any flags your office collects and any customers dropping them off who are willing to have their pictures taken! You can email your photos to photos@northshorebank.com.

Unnaturally “natural” foods: If you’re on the lookout for healthy, whole foods, mindbodygreen has a list of seven foods that are often touted as “natural” but which actually require a lot of artificial processes to produce. On the list are: low-fat dairy, vegetable oils, bottled juice, agave nectar, egg replacements, cold cuts, and sprayable butter and oils. Take a look at the link for more information!
