Around the Bank
Toys for Tots: Our Racine and Kenosha County branches collected unwrapped toys for needy kids, reports MLO Linda Tait. The Racine Kenosha Builders Association will distribute the toys to Toys for Tots. “The bed of my truck and the backseat were completely full,” Linda writes. “Thank you to all who helped make it a joyful Christmas for a deserving child.”
Jackson Park tree lighting: On Dec 4, Jackson Park employees pitched in for the neighborhood’s annual Christmas tree lighting. Audubon Middle School’s marching band played holiday music at the event, which was attended by Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Alderman Mark Borkowski. After the lighting, North Shore Bank provided hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies to the community, reports ABMS Dulce Gutierrez. “We also had a special guest — Santa!” she adds. “The kids loved it!”
North Shore Shape Up
Warm up, wheeze less: Inhaling cold air can cause your airways to tighten up and narrow — which is uncomfortable for anyone, but especially for asthma sufferers. By wrapping a scarf or bandanna around your face and over your mouth, you’ll keep the air you breathe warmer and make breathing easier.
