Last month, the Door County Board of Realtors named our Mortgage Loan Officer Rebecca Madsen their Affiliate of the Year for 2015. The award goes to only one individual in the county each year. Every realtor in the county has a chance to vote on the recipient, and, Rebecca says, they take it “very seriously.”
“I did not even know that I was nominated, yet alone won,” says Rebecca, who works from our Sturgeon Bay branch and was out of the office when her win was announced. “I feel very honored and happy.”
The announcement noted Rebecca’s roles as a representative with the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and a senior title closer for HUD; her work with Habitat for Humanity, the Door County Economic Development Corporation, and the Door County Home Builders Association; and her flair for networking at Board of Realtors events.
“I participate in almost every event the realtors hold,” she says. “I go to shop-talk events, and I love it when I am the only lender there — I am then looked to for mortgage advice and am able to show that I am an expert. I have worked very hard to build good solid relationships with my realtors.”
To build such relationships, Rebecca says, she hosts events at Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks games and regularly meets with realtors one-on-one, as well as arranging educational presentations for them.
“I am a firm believer in the quote ‘Out of sight, out of mind,’” she notes. “And believe me, I am out there!”
Most important of all, she says, “North Shore Bank and I provide excellent service to both the realtors and their clients. I could not have won without the whole team at North Shore Bank working with me. And now I have something to display in my office with pride!”
