From HR: Great tips for better ergonomic health
North Shore Bank employees recently learned about the importance of ergonomics in the workplace, when physical therapist Rebekah Pogwizd put on a presentation at Corporate. She showed attendees some simple ways to arrange our workspaces, as well as which kinds activities and behaviors are ergonomically healthy, which aren’t, and some great stretches and movements to improve our posture throughout the workday. Howard-Suamico celebrates grand opening
On March 12, our Howard-Suamico branch celebrated its grand opening with festivities and fun for hundreds of people. The bank gave away thousands of dollars worth of prizes, including a landscape makeover valued at $1,500 and a $1,500 travel voucher. Elsa and Anna from Frozen also showed up for a sing-along, and Bay Port High School’s robotics club held a cookout fundraiser. More on the fun here.
Sturgeon Bay bake sale raises $1,665 for victims of fire
After a fire at the Orchard Estates apartment complex displaced a number of families and residents, our Sturgeon Bay East branch organized a bake sale on March 4 to raise funds to help. “It was a community event for a good cause,” Personal Banker Tammy Hendrickson reported. The bake sale raised $1,665, and North Shore Bank contributed another $500. Read more about it.
You Went There: Katie Nadler swims with the dolphins
Application Development Manager Katie Nadler and her husband, Jason, visited Riviera Maya, Mexico, at the end of February. “It was our honeymoon,” Katie said. “We were married in July, but waited until the winter to go somewhere warm.” Highlights of the trip were snorkeling and swimming with dolphins. Allouez and Green Bay East’s recent early-morning staff meeting landed on St. Patrick’s Day, so the branches made the most of it. “We celebrated with a few healthy and ‘green’ recipes, including banana bars with green frosting, a green-eggs-and-ham breakfast crockpot meal, green grapes, and green juice,” reported Hilary Izzard, Assistant Branch Manager–Sales at Allouez. “Our branch manager, Mickey Adams, was out that week, and while the boss is away, we will play!” •••

As the fun of March Madness continues, it’s a good time to talk about the dangers of gambling — whether sports-related or not. Gambling is an entertaining pastime for many people, but for some, it’s a problem. March is National Problem Gambling Awareness Month. The Sussex Food Pantry is collecting donations from businesses and individuals for its 16th Annual Mother’s Day Gift Bag giveaway. Donate items like candles, jewelry, sweet treats, lotion, hair accessories, shampoo, body wash, gift cards, books, journals, perfume, cosmetics, nail polish, stationary, notecards, soap, and small household items, and they’ll be collected into gift bags for mothers in need, to be given away the week before Mother’s Day. Donations are being collected at our Sussex and Brookfield Capitol branches. •••
