After a fire at the Orchard Estates apartment complex displaced a number of families and residents, our Sturgeon Bay East branch organized a bake sale on March 4 to raise funds to help.
“It was a community event for a good cause,” Personal Banker Tammy Hendrickson reported. “People dropped off baked goods to help, and others bought them. One person came back three times!”
The bake sale raised $1,665, and North Shore Bank contributed another $500. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church opened an account to accept donations for victims of the fire. Mortgage Loan Originator Rebecca Madsen, who helped Tammy throughout the planning and execution of the event, attends Prince of Peace. “That’s why they opened the account here,” Tammy said.
Employees from Sturgeon Bay East and Sturgeon Bay West donated baked goods for the sale, and Janice Smits, who retired from Sturgeon Bay East last year, also came in to help.
