From HR: Wellness screenings can inspire you to change
Our annual Interra Health biometric screenings help improve bank employees’ quality of life by providing vital information about what kind of shape we’re in. Fox Point Universal Banker Abbey Samenfeld can testify to that! Abbey has a family history of high cholesterol, and finding that hers was too high scared her — but in a positive way. She says the test results are leading her to “turn my life around and be healthier before it’s too late.” See more about what Abbey learned and had to say!
Games prepare staff for new checking products
To prepare for the rollout of a new suite of business checking products, branch employees participated in a series of educational games and activities. See what they did!
Employees, customers donate gifts for mothers
North Shore Bank employees collected a ton of items to make Mother’s Day more special for some women in Wisconsin. Our Sussex and Corporate offices gathered items for gift bags for low-income mothers, to be distributed by the Volunteer Organization of Women in Sussex. The items included purses, makeup, jewelry, toiletries, accessories, stationery and pens, and treats, among other things. See how much we collected here!
Volunteers clean up river area for Earth Day
Thirteen North Shore Bank employees and their family members volunteered for the Urban Ecology Center’s Earth Day of Service on April 23. The group spent the morning cleaning up along the banks of the Milwaukee River. See photos from the day and find out who helped out and what they did!
Pitch in at 10th annual Shredding Day
North Shore Bank’s 10th annual Community Shredding Day will take place May 7 from 9 to 11am. We’ll accept documents for shredding at all of our branches, and some offices will have shredding trucks on site to destroy larger amounts of materials. If you’d like to help out, get the details here.
North Shore Shape Up: Eating vegan?
If you’re eating a vegan diet — or considering it — you need to pay extra attention to ensure you get all of the nutrients you need. According to recent research, it’s not unusual for vegans to be low on iron, calcium, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin B-12. Make sure you’re eating lots of whole foods — not just processed food made without animal products — and aim to consume lots of nutritious fats like those found in avocados, nuts, olive oil, and dark chocolate, as well as greens, walnuts, and ground flaxseed for omega-3s. •••
