Greg Kroll marks 20 years of helping customers
Why has Mortgage Loan Officer Greg Kroll stayed in his job for 20 years? “Many people in this business jump from one job to another, only to find out the grass is not greener on the other side,” he says. “You keep in contact with people and hear about their new positions, and you realize it’s just a whole ’nother set of problems somewhere else. The reality is, it’s never perfect; it can never be perfect, no matter where you are. So when you find something good that works for you, you want to stick with it. That is what has worked for me.” Read more about Greg’s two decades of service here!

Promotions for June 2016 •••
The following employees were promoted in June. Leave a comment to congratulate them!
“I still remember my telephone conversation with (Community Lending Manager) Miguel Pesqueira about an open position at North Shore Bank,” recalls Preston Chybowski, who was promoted from Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager to Commercial Real Estate Loan Originator. “I played high school football and basketball with his son. I was hired straight out of college by (Commercial Credit Manager) Mark Ohlert. Ultimately, he was the one who rolled the dice on me! While on the job, I learned a lot from (Chief Credit Officer) Larry Wickter about loan structuring techniques and underwriting methods, which I will use throughout my career. Before moving to the sales side, I worked primarily with my current boss, (Commercial Real Estate Lending Manager) Eric Freeman, so this was the right step in my development here at North Shore Bank.”
“Thank you to everyone who helped me get to where I am now,” says Pulaski Universal Banker Samantha Frank, who was promoted from Teller. “I know this is just the beginning, and I’m excited to see what the future has in store for me.”
Other promotions:
- Tiffany Dettmann, Southridge, promoted from Teller to Teller Supervisor
- Martha Muskavitch, Customer Support Center, promoted from Investment Processor to IRA Specialist
- Mari Schill, Service/Retail Mortgage and Collections, promoted from Customer Care Representative to Mortgage Servicing Specialist

NSB sponsoring ‘Park in the Art’ project
North Shore Bank is sponsoring the next “Park in the Art” project, which will be installed in Wehmhoff Square Park in Burlington.
“Park in the Art” is a design competition organized by nonprofit volunteer organization BikeBurlington. Artists design and create a functional work of art that will serve as a bike rack for six to eight bicycles.
The community is invited to stop at our Burlington branch through July 20 to vote for their favorite design. For every vote cast, North Shore Bank will donate $1 to Love, Inc., a Burlington nonprofit that serves disadvantaged families of western Racine County. In addition, all voters are entered to win four Kenosha Kingfish Founders Club tickets that include food and beverages. •••
North Shore Shape Up: Heart disease affects women too
Although heart disease has long been considered more of an issue for men, the reality is that it’s still the leading cause of death for women, as the Berkeley Wellness blog reports. Moreover, the American Heart Association says that “coronary heart disease remains understudied, underdiagnosed, and undertreated in women.” This is even more true for black women and women under the age of 54. The upshot:
Not only are women less likely to realize when they are having a heart attack, but it’s often more challenging for doctors to diagnose it. This helps explain why while fewer American women have heart attacks than men each year, they are more likely to die when they have one.
