Jeanine admits that she likes predictability: She has spent all 20 of her years at Brookfield Square, and she has held just two positions, teller and personal banker. “I’ve never wanted to be a boss,” she says.

On her September 9 anniversary date this year, Chairman and CEO Jim McKenna came to give her a hug. It reminded her how much she loves North Shore Bank and why she continues to take so much pride in working here.

She’s proud of her bank as an institution, she’s proud of her coworkers and management, and she’s proud of the service she provides her customers.

“I especially like our seniors,” Jeanine says. “It’s so rewarding to help them, and they’re so appreciative. I love making everything right for them.”

A memorable lesson and cherished memory relates to a customer who walked in at 4:59 one afternoon to open custodial accounts for her 14-year-old twin boys. Jeanine greeted her warmly and took care of all the details.

A few days later, Mr. McKenna approached Jeanine’s desk and dropped a letter on it. The woman knew Mr. McKenna, and she’d written to compliment Jeanine for cheerfully staying late to take care of her.

“Do your job right, no matter what the clock says,” Jeanine reflects.

Area Branch Manager/Assistant Vice President Margie Brusa has been Jeanine’s manager for the last five years. “I could share hundreds of stories to support her ability to go above and beyond for her customers, as well as her peers,” Margie says. “When I came to the Brookfield Square location, Jeanine made a point to introduce me to as many customers as possible and be there when I need that new-employee help.”

But coincidentally, Margie received a comment about Jeanine from a customer just this week — which, she says, speaks to Jeanine’s strengths better than anything else could. The note read:

“Jeanine Wielepski has been my personal banker since I opened my account. Over the years she has become a trusted advisor and friend. She has looked out for me and my financial well-being, as I have had to take on more money management responsibilities (for my mother, sibling, and son). She is an incredible asset to North Shore Bank and I feel she has a lot to do with your customer retention. Her exceptional level of service is very uncommon in today’s ‘self-service’ business model. I hope you appreciate her as much as I do.”
