Bank prepares for flag collection

American Legion members dispose of worn American flags following our 2015 collection.

We’re gearing up for our 15th annual bankwide worn U.S. flag collection! Our communities have come to rely on North Shore Bank as a drop-off site for their tattered American flags, and they trust that we will honorably retire the flags in Veterans Day ceremonies in November. We will work with the American Legion and Boy Scouts in Brookfield and Green Bay to properly dispose of the flags in a patriotic manner.

The collection will run October 3 through October 23. We will also donate $1 per flag — up to $1,500 total — to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and Old Glory Honor Flight. These organizations fly local World War II, Korean War, and terminally ill veterans from other conflicts to Washington, D.C., to visit their respective memorials. We will also accept donations from the public. Contact Kate Knox at kknox@northshorebank.com or 262-797-3323 if you have questions. •••

A kickoff event at our Howard-Suamico branch will also include free pumpkins for the first 100 guests, a visit from the NEW Zoo’s Zoomobile, treats, and more.

The Zoo Boo will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. on October 14 and 15, 21 and 22, and 28 and 29. For the Zoo Boo, the zoo will be filled with festive Halloween decorations, giant inflatables, a children’s maze, live swamp monsters, and — for the brave — a horse-drawn, haunted wagon ride through a “Freaky Forest” during the first two weekends of the event. •••

New Hires for September 29
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

160929-floresmartinezNew Ashwaubenon Teller Gerardo Flores Martinez is from Wausau and moved to Green Bay about a year ago. He says, “I used to work in my parents’ restaurant and decided to look for a job in the financial field, as I am studying accounting and marketing at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.” In his free time, Gerardo likes to play guitar practice scratching on turntables, or go for a run.

160929-heislenNew Sussex Teller Lauren Heislen is from Oconomowoc. Her last job was at the Piggly Wiggly in Hartland, and she is attending Waukesha County Technical College to get an accounting degree. “I was a North Shore Bank customer for six years before becoming an employee!” she says.

160929-koepselldanielleDanielle Koepsell is a new Teller at Oak Creek; she used to work at the Amazon warehouse in Kenosha and at the Pick ‘n Save in Oak Creek. “An interesting fact about me is that one of my sisters and I share the same birthday,” she says. “However, she was born in 2000, and I was born in 1994. So we’re not twins — we’re actually six years apart.” Cool!

160929-moorecrystalAnd new Fox Point Teller Crystal Moore is from Milwaukee and previously worked as a customer service rep and greeter for Time Warner Cable. “I love cooking and spending time with my family,” she says. Welcome, Crystal! •••
