Our Martin Luther King Drive branch marked its 20th anniversary on October 24 with a public ceremony that included the unearthing of a time capsule from when the branch first opened.

At the ceremony, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett proclaimed the day “North Shore Bank Day” throughout the city.

The MLK Drive branch was among the first banks to move into the city’s Harambee neighborhood. The time capsule was placed behind the building’s cornerstone in 1996. Its contents included newspapers and artwork from local students. As part of the ceremony, the old time capsule was replaced with a new one from this year.

The event received a lot of good local news coverage. You can see stories from The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Fox 6, CBS 58, and elsewhere on TV and the radio.
