As we age, it frequently becomes more difficult to read small print. This condition, presbyopia, is normal for people between 40 and 60, as Berkeley Wellness explains.
Symptoms of presbyopia include blurred vision when reading something at a normal distance, and headache and eye fatigue after doing close work. There is no way to prevent the condition, but using nonprescription reading glasses can help counter presbyopia. It’s also helpful to switch to higher-wattage lightbulbs for reading and other vision-oriented activities. If you find your vision is seriously affected, make an appointment with an eye doctor. There are surgeries and nonsurgical treatments that can help.
