Union Grove’s Nielsen swims with dolphin in Bahamas
How was your Mother’s Day? Union Grove personal banker Chris Nielsen celebrated hers in the Bahamas, swimming with a new friend — a sweet, clever dolphin named Clifton.

Chris’s son Zach and his fiancée Destiny started planning a vacation for the three of them on Carnival Cruise Line about a year and a half ago. “My significant other gets seasick, but Destiny knew I really wanted to go on a cruise,” Chris said. “I had told her that one of the things I really wanted to do was swim with dolphins.” Read more about how the trip went!

North Shore Shape Up: Chocolate’s health benefits
Here’s some good news for once! Cleveland Clinic Wellness takes note of research citing the health benefits of dark chocolate:

As you probably already know, the cacao in dark chocolate is chock full of plant nutrients known as flavonoids. (Cacao generally refers to the chocolate beans prior to processing; after processing, cocoa is the powder form.) Plenty of studies have pointed to the polyphenol activity of flavonoids, which keep us healthy by repairing or preventing daily cell damage in our bodies to delay or avoid issues like heart disease. Past research has also linked consuming cacao to better brain functioning, and two small new studies show that chocolate with a cacao content of at least 70 percent may indeed improve stress levels, inflammation, mood, and memory.

The clinic is careful to also note that this doesn’t mean you should go nuts. “But,” the experts advise, “go ahead and enjoy an ounce or so of good-quality dark chocolate with at least 70 percent cacao a few times a week. You may benefit your brain and heart, and your taste buds will surely benefit, too!” •••
