Share your flower garden in Shorelines
Do you have a beautiful, vivid, and colorful garden of flowers? We’d love to see it and share it with the rest of the bank!

Send photos of your flower garden (not your vegetable garden — sorry, backyard farmers) to Shorelines at shorelines@northshorebank.com or via text to 608-318-3348. Include your name, title, and department or branch. Deadline is Tuesday, August 14.

We’ll run the photos in next week’s Shorelines. Now go put the “petal” to the metal and take some pics! •••

Mortgage loan team scores high on customer survey
Our latest Mortgage Customer Survey results are amazing — a grand-slam effort by each and every one of our mortgage loan team members! Our Satisfaction rating this month was 99 percent, and our Net Promoter Score this month was 100! For the year, we are at 97 percent Satisfaction, with a 90 for our Net Promoter Score.

As VP and consumer lending manager Chris Boland notes, results such as these cannot be obtained without a team effort. It starts at the front-end customer meeting and has to be carried all the way through the process with our residential loan specialists and underwriters working together to deliver on our customer promise. Together, we achieve more — and this is a great example of that. Please keep reading to see some wonderful comments about our mortgage lenders.

Local luminaries turn out for Shorewood ribbon cutting

We celebrated the grand opening of our new Shorewood office in style with a VIP ribbon-cutting event on July 31. Community officials joined bank staff to celebrate the new building’s opening and North Shore Bank’s founding 95 years ago in the village. Above, branch manager Shannon Weber cut the ribbon with Shorewood Village president Allison Rozek and North Shore Bank chairman and CEO Jim McKenna. The $100 in cash that constituted the ribbon went to the Shorewood Historical Society.

At the event, we also officially unveiled the branch’s bike rack, which was designed and created by students from Shorewood High School.

Grand opening events and activities are taking place through this Saturday, August 11, including prize drawings, giveaways, an ice cream social, informational sessions, and a birthday party. The first 50 kids at the party will each get to take home a free piggy bank. •••

Despite rain, National Night Out events a success

National Night Out is an annual event that strengthens the relationship between communities and local law enforcement, by bringing them together to share food, fun, and information. Our Brookfield Square branch participated in Brookfield’s National Night Out on August 1, and our Franklin branch did so for their town’s on August 6. Above are Franklin assistant branch manager–sales Stephanie Bluemel, universal banker Bryan Sotelo, teller Valerie Kochanski, and teller supervisor Patience Scribner. North Shore Shape Up: When flying, eat these foods
Airline food has a famously bad reputation (not that it’s available on most flights now anyway). But Cleveland Clinic Wellness suggests you’ll be more comfortable if you’re thoughtful about the snacks you bring on board yourself:

Even though cabins are pressurized, as the plane gains altitude, gas in your abdomen expands. To prevent discomfort, it’s wise to stay away from gas-producing foods before and during your flight. Say no to dried fruit; beans and legumes; foods sweetened with artificial sweeteners; vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower; carbonated drinks; dairy products; and whole grains and bran. Many carbohydrate-rich foods can also cause gas, so you probably want to opt out of the pasta option.

Better options are proteins and fats — such as meat, nuts, avocado, or gluten-free crackers. Happy travels! •••

Upcoming Events
Greendale Village Days take place tomorrow Friday, August 10, through Sunday, August 12. The North Shore Bank Family Entertainment Area will feature music, games, rides, face painting, and more. More upcoming events here.
