New Hires for January 10
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Residential loan specialist Jayne Bjorge lives in East Troy and is originally from Mukwonago. “I didn’t venture very far,” she jokes. She previously worked at Providence Home Lending as a senior loan processor. “I love being a granny to our five adorable grandkids, ranging in age from 9 to 4, and enjoying life with them!” she says. “We like to go on adventures, ‘dates,’ and vacations together. We’ve gone on road trips to Colorado, South Dakota, and Michigan, and 11 of us went to Disneyland. I love to eat, drink, and be merry with our friends and family — I’m truly blessed.”

West Allis teller Steven Ehrhardt grew up in Fort Atkinson and lives in Bayview now. Prior to joining the bank, he tended bar and worked in construction and demolition. He enjoys live music and has played trumpet for 20 years; he performs with ensembles including Blaskapelle Milwaukee, the Beloit Janesville Symphony, Lake County Symphony, and the Milwaukee Philharmonic. “The biggest difference between being here and my previous jobs is consistency,” Steven says. “I am very happy to be working a job with consistent hours and at the same location every day.”

Mortgage lender Ed Hughes is originally from St. Louis and moved to Wisconsin in 1991; he now lives in Muskego with his wife, Joanne. He was previously a mortgage loan originator with U.S. Bank in Brookfield. “Joanne and I love the outdoors, including boating, biking, and hiking,” Ed says. “My sons got me involved in running marathons and doing triathlons. My biggest milestone is completing the Madison Ironman in 15 hours. Age has caught up with my knees, so I’ve backed off on the running, but still do a lot of biking.”

El Rey teller Ashley Rodriguez was born and raised in Puerto Rico and previously worked as a front desk cashier at the El Rey Foodmart, which houses our branch. “Seeing the workers at the El Rey branch acting like a family, supporting each other, and being passionate about their work made me realize where my true home was,” Ashley says. “I was a customer service representative for another bank in Puerto Rico, and becoming a teller has been a huge step for me. I enjoy being face to face with my customers and giving them the ability to succeed with their financial needs.” She enjoys spending time with her family. •••

North Shore Shape Up: Is dairy good for your heart?
Harvard Health reports on a surprising study (which should be well received in Wisconsin):

People whose daily diets include at least two servings per day of milk, yogurt, or cheese appear to have a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, or death than people who don’t consume dairy products.

Though the report points out that you cannot draw conclusions about cause and effect from the study, which was published last September in The Lancet, it notes that “dairy-based foods contain vitamins D and K, calcium, and other nutrients thought to be good for cardiovascular health. The findings support the benefits of all types of dairy, including full-fat versions.” There’s something to moo about! •••

Upcoming Events
The Green Bay Gamblers Dash for Cash presented by North Shore Bank takes place Saturday, January 19. Selected local teachers will scramble to grab as much of $10,000 in dollar bills as they can from center ice between periods, to help their schools. More upcoming events here.
