Reyes leads in Elan promotion, Gay wins $500 prize

Howard-Suamico universal banker Brittany Gay won the sweepstakes for Elan’s “Choose Your Journey” promotion, which ran through October and November last year, snagging herself a $500 gift card for Hotels.com.

For the promotion, bank employees competed to open the most Elan credit card accounts. El Rey personal banker Karina Reyes led the top performers, activating 25 accounts and earning a $250 gift card.

The other top performers were Bayshore personal banker Rhonda Mckinnie (18 accounts, $200 gift card), El Rey assistant branch manager–sales Maria Castro (13, $150), Pulaski universal banker Terri Poradek (11, $100), and Sussex personal banker Mariella Zarb (9, $75).

Sweepstakes winners were chosen randomly from the pool of employees who successfully opened an account during the promotion. The other winners were Southridge universal banker Nisreen Mseitif, who won a camera, and Allouez and Green Bay East area branch manager Mickey Adams, Brookfield Square teller supervisor Carmen Maurer, and Cudahy branch manager Ray Guardiola, who each received an Amazon gift card.

“I travel a lot, so this will be great!” said Brittany — pictured up top with branch manager Katie Presser at left and district manager Kerri Collins at right — of her grand prize. “I think I am going to go to Wisconsin Dells with it, and probably book a night at the Tundra Lodge here in town as well. I can’t wait!” •••

“Together, Achieving More”: Rewards for referrals
It happens to all of us from time to time: You’re talking to friends, and one of them says, “Hey, you work at a bank. Let me ask you about…” This is your opportunity to refer them to a North Shore Bank specialist who can help.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could get rewarded for doing so? Well, you can — through our “Together, Achieving More” referral program. Karen DeGarmo has more information here.

North Shore team tackles Fight for Air Climb

Once again, the North Shore Climbers successfully surmounted 1,034 steps and 47 stories to reach the top of the U.S. Bank Center in the Fight for Air Climb on March 9. The climb is a fundraiser for the American Lung Association, and Milwaukee’s event is the largest in the country. The North Shore Climbers have taken part since 2013.

Pictured above are our four stalwart climbers: deposit operations team lead Kristin Hoch (on her fourth climb), senior customer assistance rep Carrie Feiker (her second), SVP HR/Compliance Molly Schissler (fifth!), and Molly’s sister Kit (this was her maiden ascension). “Make plans to join the team next March,” Molly says. “It’s fun and easier than you think!” •••

Weber, Brock enjoy music, dinner at Shorewood gala

Shorewood branch manager Shannon Weber and teller Razalyn Brock attended the Swing With Shorewood gala on March 9 at Milwaukee’s Discovery World.

Held by the Shorewood SEED Foundation, the event and its online auction component help fund grants and programs at Shorewood public schools, and has raised more than $1.5 million since 2004. North Shore Bank’s Shorewood branch donates to the foundation. Besides food and drink, the gala featured music by the Shorewood Intermediate School jazz band, and Shorewood High’s band and orchestra (pictured above).

“I love when the guest speakers get up and talk about how the funds raised at events like this support the schools and the things they are looking to do for the future,” Shannon said. “I also love hearing about the successes of the students.”

“It’s really amazing to see how this organization has moved the Shorewood community to contribute, raising funding to provide all these programs for the school district,” Razalyn said. “I’m glad North Shore Bank could be a part of that.” She and husband Nirmal are pictured above with Shannon and husband Jeff. •••

North Shore Shape Up: Television presents health risks
Here’s some health news that won’t surprise anyone: Watching less TV could help you live longer. Cleveland Clinic Wellness notes:

Research suggests that your waistline, heart health, and risk of diabetes and cancer could benefit from less time in front of the tube — and you might even live longer! In addition to having a lower risk of death from any cause, those who watch less TV may have a lower risk of a potentially fatal type of blood clot compared with those who watch a lot of TV. And while you might think you can make up for your nightly Netflix binge at the gym the next morning, getting regular exercise doesn’t seem to offset the health risks of too much TV time.

What to do? The clinic advises: “When you do sit down to watch your favorite show, get up and walk around at commercial breaks, or create your own breaks if you’re watching a movie or ad-free show. And apply these principles to all your sitting endeavors, from working at a desk to socializing with friends.” •••
