Just beautiful: Flowers out front at Corporate

AVP and facilities and services manager Tim Dotson took this lovely shot of the daylilies out front at Brookfield Square. “We’ve had them for a number of years but this year’s bloom has been quite tremendous,” Tim says, adding that building engineer Jeff Dolezal brought the notably fabulous flowers to his attention. •••

Kudos: Kelly, Hughes impress customers

Customers recently shared their praise for Milwaukee Capitol teller supervisor Tawanda Kelly (pictured at left) with a note. After acknowledging the great job branch manager Erica Hughes (at right) had done on their loan application, the couple explains that they ran into a “snafu” over Memorial Day weekend.

Tawanda, they said, “did everything possible, spending extra time to help fix our situation. It makes our heart joyful to see such dedication and customer service. We will continue to support a company who keeps employees like her.” Nice work! •••

New Hires for July 11
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Southwest teller Van Corey is from New Berlin. He previously worked as a beverage merchandiser for a beer distributor in Madison. “Some interesting things about me are that I am getting married next year on Labor Day,” he says.”And I also just got a new puppy. Her name is Millie and she is a shorkiepoo — a mix of a Shorkie, Shih Tzu, and a poodle. She is 8 weeks old.”

Southridge teller Jonathan Lor is from Oshkosh and worked for Panera Bread for three and a half years while attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He graduated in spring 2018. “I am a sports fanatic,” he says. “I enjoy watching football, baseball, basketball and have been to at least one Packers, Brewers, and Bucks game. I look forward to adding a Badgers football game to that list until I find other sports or teams to watch and follow.” •••

Cruz son’s pitching helps team win tournament

West Allis branch manager Marie Cruz’s 16-year-old son Natanael competed in a Game Day USA baseball tournament at the Rock sports complex in Milwaukee from July 5 to 7, his pitching helping his team win the championship. He pitched seven innings with 10 strikeouts to help win the final game over Muskego High School, 3-2.

“I enjoyed watching my son have a number of great plays on the field,” Marie said. “Being the mom of a pitcher is very nerve-racking, because all eyes are on you and your son. In the end, it all went well and I am so proud of his confidence on that mound.” •••

North Shore Shape Up: Dogs mirror owners’ stress
Are you more stressed out than you think? Your pooch may be able to help answer that question, Cleveland Clinic Wellness says:

Dogs can mirror their owners’ stress levels, suggests new research. In the study, researchers measured the stress hormone cortisol in a group of dogs and their owners over the course of several months and found that levels tended to be synchronized. The researchers determined that the animals’ stress levels rose in response to their owners’ stress levels, rather than vice-versa.

The clinic notes that the study only looked at border collies and Shetland sheepdogs, and other breeds might respond differently to their owners’ stress. But if your good boy or girl seems to be on edge for no obvious reason, stop and take a look at how you’re feeling yourself. •••
