By taking turns running meetings, IS team builds bonds
When Information Systems holds its monthly department meeting, it’s about more than getting everyone on the same page: Because IS employees rotate through running the meetings and devising fun teambuilding exercises, it’s also a chance for them to grow as workers and have fun as a group.

“I just think it’s a good idea to make sure that everyone’s involved,” says VP and department head Dana Scherff, who implemented the idea about three years ago. “Instead of just attending a meeting and listening to me, it’s good for them to take the lead and have some input, and come up with some creative ideas.” Read more about how IS’s monthly meetings work!

Business bankers make yearly cream puff deliveries

Last week, Commercial Banking team members made their annual delivery of Wisconsin State Fair cream puffs to clients — 26 boxes containing six puffs each, to be specific.

“We know how busy our customers are, and many times they’re unable to get to the fair, so we wanted to bring a taste of it to them!” said lending sales specialist Jody Moore.

Senior vice president and commercial banking manager Margaret Capper has delivered to one client for over a decade.

“Literally every employee from that business sends a personalized thank you via email,” Margaret says, noting that one client described the cream puffs as “a little slice of heaven and a great treat on a warm Friday in summer.”

Up top, getting ready to make deliveries, are VP business banking Mike Cornell, treasury solutions specialist Angela San Felipo-Gellendin, business banking officer Jeff Luczak, VP commercial treasury manager Penny Foust, and business relationship managers Cheri Cicona-Trudell and Karla Lozano. And above, business relationship manager Christen Meyer shows off the boxes of cream puffs — as well as her leopard-print shoes. VP business banking Phil Ostroski and Jody made deliveries as well. •••

Get cash for big purchases, combine debt with a HELOC

Could someone you know use a little more liquid cash right now? (Maybe it’s even you.) A North Shore Bank home equity line of credit is an excellent way to:

  • Pay for renovations and repairs that will increase the value of your home
  • Get the funds to make a large purchase at a great interest rate
  • Consolidate debt — again, at a great rate

We even have a special for you. Right now, you or your friends can take advantage of a fixed-rate conversion APR of 3.89% for 66 months, or a nonpromotional APR of 5.24%. This is a nice opportunity for existing employees, friends, or customers who don’t have a HELOC with us — and those with a current HELOC simply need to take a new draw to be eligible for the special terms.

Employees can qualify for our promotional HELOC rate, so if you’re considering home improvements or another big purchase, or streamlining debt, find out how you can use the equity in your home by talking with someone at the nearest office. To learn more, go to northshorebank.com/freedom. •••

Kudos for Brookfield Capitol
Some grateful words from a customer of the Brookfield Capitol branch:

“My wife and I moved some money to North Shore Bank. She worked with the personal banker on one of her mother’s accounts, and I worked with the branch manager on a sizable rollover from another bank. PB Josh Samson was good, and manager Rebecca McCartney was top-notch. Good stuff!”

Excellent work, team! •••

Angela Byrd now leads MLK Drive
Angela Byrd is the new branch manager at MLK Drive. She previously worked at Milwaukee-based We Energies, where she led a team of 16, and mentored youth in career development at the Human Development Center. “I am passionate about financial education, and I enjoy giving back to the community, as well as offering exceptional customer satisfaction and working with customers to meet their needs,” she says.

When she isn’t working, Angela spends time with her family and likes traveling around the world. “The place I would love to visit is Paris — to see the Eiffel Tower, eat French food, and check out the latest women’s fashions,” she says. Welcome, Angela! •••
