Checking in with Linda Lassa as she celebrates 35 years
Earlier this month, checking services rep Linda Lassa celebrated her 35th anniversary with North Shore Bank. For her 30th in 2014, she talked to Shorelines about the different roles she’s held here and her love of travel.

We checked in with the “ever-evolving” Linda to see how things have been at work and elsewhere. Read on!

Crowds enjoy delicious fun, dining at Shorewood Feast

Branch manager Shannon Weber addresses the crowd with help from Shorewood personal banker Kenya Owens.

The inaugural North Shore Bank Shorewood Feast took place Saturday, September 14, and featured a family-friendly street festival during the day, followed by an outdoor dinner in the middle of Oakland Avenue that evening.

Dinner guests taking in the entertainment as the night started to wind down.

Customers of the bank got a couple of nice perks: a VIP lounge where they could sit and enjoy music on the main concert stage, and an express lane to skip the line for food and drink.

North Shore Bank had a booth with information and activities including the Spin the Wheel game and a selfie station, and Shorewood branch manager Shannon Weber helped emcee between musical acts, tossing goodies to the crowd and thanking the event’s other local sponsors. “Mostly, though,” she said, “we wanted to thank the community for giving us the opportunity to be their financial partner since 1923.” •••

Having a rough time? Our superheroes can help!
We all face challenges in our lives, including some that can be very difficult to navigate. Often, it is helpful to talk with someone who has been through something similar, so you have a better idea how to navigate things.

Check out the “Be a Superhero” section under Caregiver Support on the intranet. There you’ll find a list of coworkers willing to talk with you about challenges they have faced, including: cancer, loss of a parent or other close family members, and caring for loved ones with dementia or other difficult conditions. Corporate event helps families, supports Packers

Last week, Corporate and Brookfield Square employees raised $800 for families affected by domestic violence — and supported Wisconsin’s Green Bay Packers — for the Corporate Community Outreach Committee’s Back the Pack fundraiser.

Employees could bring baby items to fill a Pack ’n Play in the café or donate $5 to Milwaukee’s Sojourner Family Peace Center to participate in a casual day on Friday and show off their Packers gear. Participants are pictured above.

Consumer loan specialist JoEllen Brisk won first place in a contest to guess the number of candy items in a Packers jar in the café, taking home a $75 gift card for Fanatics sports apparel retailer along with the jar and the 147 pieces of candy inside. Mortgage loan underwriting team leader Peggy Winchell came in second, winning a Packers shirt and other football items. •••

New Hires for September 26
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Green Bay East personal banker Brenda Gillespie was born and raised in De Pere and has lived in Green Bay her entire adult life. She has worked in accounting for the last 20 years and was a personal loan specialist at OneMain Financial before joining North Shore Bank. “My husband’s nickname for me is ‘Turbo,'” she says, “because I am never idle. Whether it is doing chores around the house or plans with family and friends, I keep busy most of the time. It is not until winter that I settle down a little bit — I am not a winter fan and like to vacation somewhere tropical every year. I sure do love the rest of Wisconsin’s seasons, though.”

Mortgage loan originator Ross Ray lives in Cudahy with his wife and cats Jaspurr and Kali. He was previously a loan originator for Chase. ” I grew up in northern Minnesota on Lake Superior,” Ross says. ” I used to hunt and fish, but now I live too close to Pick ’n Save, so there is no need. I love tent camping and bad ‘dad’ jokes — e.g, Why does a chicken coop only have two doors? Because if it had four doors, it would be a chicken sedan — hey-oo!” •••
