Earlier this month, checking services rep Linda Lassa celebrated her 35th anniversary with North Shore Bank. For her 30th in 2014, she talked to Shorelines about the different roles she’s held here and her love of travel. We checked in with the “ever-evolving” Linda to see how things have been at work and elsewhere.
What has changed — professionally and personally — for you in the last five years?
Quite a few of my co-workers/dear friends have retired in the last few years — four in the last two or three years. We’d worked together for probably 15 years, and when you work with people for that long of a time, they’re not just co-workers anymore. So there is an adjustment. But it also has given me the chance to get to know and work with some really great new people. It’s always good to have new blood.
On a personal note, my husband Dennis and I celebrated our 35th-and-counting wedding anniversary. We also celebrated our son John’s graduation from UW-Whitewater, and he went on to also graduate from Waukesha County Technical College this last spring.
What have you learned in the last five years?
To always count my blessings and offer my love and help wherever God has me today.
Have you traveled anywhere interesting lately?
I was able to travel to the East Coast this year for the first time. It was beautiful — the Adirondack Mountains, Lake George, Vermont — and everyone seemed to be so friendly. Loved it and can’t wait to go back to visit with dear friends that have moved from here to New York and Connecticut.
And what does the future hold?
My husband and I are looking forward to our son getting married in a few years, and I hope to do a lot more traveling.
