Tell us what you’re thankful for
The calendar year is drawing to a close, and at the end of the month we’ll celebrate Thanksgiving. Will you share what you’re thankful for from 2019?
It could be a work-related achievement or a joyful moment from your personal life — the door is wide open. But we’d love to hear from you and will run all the answers in a special edition of Shorelines on Wednesday, November 27, right before the big day. Here’s what to do:
- Email shorelines@northshorebank.com with a note about what you’re thankful for from this year. Give us more than a sentence but keep it to about 150 words.
- If you’ve got a photo of whatever it is, attach it to your email or text it to 608-318-3348.
Deadline is 5pm on Monday, November 25. Let’s show our gratitude! Thank you in advance. 🦃 •••

Chilly temps don’t slow down Ghost Train in Shorewood
Shorewood once again celebrated the “Night of the Ghost Train” on Halloween, which features an artistic sensory experience meant to evoke the passage of a historic 400 train crossing the Oak Leaf Trail Bridge. North Shore Bank helped sponsor the event again, running a costume contest and dispensing candy to young trick-or-treaters.
“This event has always been outside, but the cold temps, wind, and snow brought us inside this year,” Shorewood branch manager Shannon Weber said. “We were worried about whether people would still attend, but the cold did not stop everyone from coming out and enjoying a great event.”
Employees who helped out include Fox Point universal banker Gabriel Apostol, Shorewood personal banker Laura De Bruin, New Berlin teller Kelly Doucette, Shorewood teller Audrey Elliott, Southwest personal banker Shannan Mahloch, Shorewood assistant branch manager Kenya Owens, Shorewood teller Micki Usama, and Brookfield Capitol universal banker Traci Wood. “A huge thank you to all of you!” Shannon said. “This event would not be such a success without all your support.” •••
Racine families enjoy Boo at the Zoo
The Racine Zoo held its annual Boo at the Zoo Halloween event on Saturday, October 26, giving kids and their families a chance to trick-or-treat and enjoy appropriately ghoulish activities while visiting the animals on site as well. North Shore Bank is a longtime major sponsor of the event.
“We played games with kids and gave out ghost lollipops as a craft,” Northside branch manager Lisa Brooks said. “The staff and the community had a fun time.” •••

He is a very spoiled wiener dog.”
Forest Home teller Blake Steidemann is from Madison and also worked for Target before coming to North Shore Bank.
