‘Never a short-term proposition’: Trout marks 20 years
Before senior vice president and CIO Dean Trout joined North Shore Bank 20 years ago, he was working as an account executive for Fiserv, and before that as CIO for a multibillion-dollar bank in Ohio.
“My expectations were to make a difference — to take my technology and management skills and build a world-class IT department with exceptional customer service and integrate it into the business needs of North Shore Bank.” Dean took a few minutes to share some thoughts with Shorelines about his big anniversary. 20 years later, Ott still at her ‘temporary’ job
When marketing manager Mary Ott joined North Shore Bank 20 years ago, she had recently gotten engaged and was finishing her last semester at Milwaukee’s Wisconsin Lutheran College. Hired as a personal banker for what she thought would be a temporary gig, she ultimately ended up moving into the Marketing department — and the rest is history.
“It turned out to be the best temporary job ever! The Mary in 2000 would be very surprised to find me working here,” she says. Mary talked with Shorelines about her career so far. Read more!
Dazzling daylilies remind us to pause for beauty
The daylilies out front at Corporate are once again stunning employees and visitors with their vivid color. “We are blessed in so many ways, even through this crazy pandemic,” notes SVP commercial banking manager Margaret Capper, who took the photo above. “The simplest of gifts we are provided with — the beauty of nature.” •••
Mask-making initiative wraps up
The #MaskUpMKE project officially ended Tuesday, after a final push to get more boxes of COVID-19 masks completed. Volunteers from Just One More Ministries are now collecting the finished masks and extra mask-making kits.
If someone drops off any more completed masks at your branch, you can email masks@jomministry.org to arrange for pickup. We’ll share final numbers on how the effort went when we have them! •••
New Hires for July 2
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.
Pulaski universal banker Andrea Brezgel was born and raised in Milwaukee and moved up to the Green Bay area about three years ago. She previously worked at Goodwill. “I love football, and no matter what anyone says, I will always be cheering for the Patriots on game day!” Andrea says. “My favorite activity to do in my free time is to play ‘Crime Scene Investigator’ with my son in the backyard. I also love the TV show 90 Day Fiancé and try my best to make sure I never miss an episode!”
Grafton personal banker Stephen Hallam is from Cedarburg and previously worked at PNC Bank. “When I’m not at work, I’m usually working my photography business,” he says. “My wife and I have been doing it for 11 years and absolutely love every opportunity it has given us — from capturing someone’s special life moments to musicians giving their all on the stage. I’m also an avid Marvel fan.”
“I am for sure a down-home country gal!” says Mequon teller Tanisha Sutton, who was born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She moved to Milwaukee in 2011 with her mother and four out of six siblings. She previously worked as a scheduling coordinator at Froedtert Clinical Cancer Center. “One fun and interesting fact about me is that I love to cook and have small social gatherings with friends,” she says. “I enjoy sewing and hairstyling as pastimes, as well.” •••
