Mortgage, Indirect Lending teams hit big numbers

Smooth waters are ahead for North Shore Bank and our indirect lending marine customers.

While it has been a challenging and unusual year, North Shore Bank’s Indirect Lending and Mortgage departments have not just performed well, but have actually achieved historic levels of success. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has hit many segments of the American economy hard, these departments’ numbers show that there is still plenty of good news out there. Read more about it here!

Tell us about your grandparents!

This year more than ever, it’s important to keep our loved ones top of mind. In honor of National Grandparents Day on September 13, we’re asking you to share photos of and stories about your grandparents or other older relatives. Here’s how it works:

  • Send photos and stories to shorelines@northshorebank.com. Please ID everyone in each photo and provide an approximate date it was taken, along with your full name and current job title.
  • You can submit photos and stories about grandparents or older relatives who are alive or no longer with us, at any age.
  • One submission per employee, please.
  • Deadline is Friday, August 28, at 5pm.

Photos and text may be edited to fit our needs. We’ll share your photos and stories in Shorelines and on the bank’s social media. We’re looking forward to hearing from you! •••

NSB customer wins MasterCard sweepstakes top prize

Joseph Rowan collecting his prize at Sussex.

In a surprising and very nice turn of events, a North Shore Bank customer has won a grand prize in the MasterCard Priceless Surprises sweepstakes.

Joseph Rowan of Hartford said he “couldn’t believe it” when he won the giveaway, which our customers are entered in each time they use their North Shore Bank debit cards. Joseph ended up winning after purchasing a Domino’s pizza. MasterCard gives away only four grand prizes each year.

The original grand prize was a VIP trip to the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Joseph instead received the cash equivalent, for a total $14,500. He and his fiancée plan to use the money to help pay for their upcoming wedding. He expressed his gratitude at a socially distanced celebration at our Sussex branch.

“It is very exciting that out of millions of entries, one of our customers was the winner,” product manager Eric Brooks said. “Being able to give out a $14,500 prize would be enjoyable under any circumstances, but knowing what our winner will be putting the money towards makes it that much better. Who would have thought that buying a pizza could end up paying for your wedding?” •••

Promgoer stops in to finish opening savings account

Madylin Rose and her dad.

Savings are certainly a priority for Union Grove customer Madylin Rose, who visited the branch with her father to open a savings account before she starts college at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

“Her dad called to see if she could stop in to sign some papers,” personal banker Elise Chase said. “I did not expect her to come in her prom dress!” The high school grad was headed for a “makeup prom,” after the original spring event was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. •••

Bank helps Neighborhood House for National Nonprofit Day

Neighborhood House of Milwaukee staff, volunteers, and community members celebrate at a pre-COVID event.

North Shore Bank helped celebrate National Nonprofit Day this past Monday, August 17, by donating $500 to Neighborhood House of Milwaukee in support of its new food pantry. In a Facebook post, we noted that “we support Neighborhood House’s efforts to serve over 4,000 individuals and families annually through services like early child care, after school programs, adult education for refugees, and parenting support.”

Neighborhood House accepts donations online here, and you can also sign up online if you’re looking for opportunities to volunteer! •••

New Hires for August 20
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.

Community lending senior residential loan specialist Claire Heida was born and raised and still lives in New Berlin. She worked for GE Healthcare for the last 17 years; her last position there was lead process coordinator. She financed medical equipment for strategic accounts. “I love to travel with my family and friends — except this year — and spend time outside in the summer enjoying my gardens,” she says. “I enjoy cooking and grilling. I also have two newly acquired kittens, Oliver and Otis, that I am spoiling rotten!” •••
