Reinhardt’s ’40 Under 40′ win laid ground for her career to come

The Milwaukee Business Journal mentioned 2010 winner Becky Reinhardt in its 40 Under 40 Awards coverage last week.

Last week, the Milwaukee Business Journal caught up with VP and Municipal Retirement Plan Services manager Becky Reinhardt as part of its annual 40 Under 40 Awards coverage. Becky was a winner in 2010. The work she was doing at that time, she says, laid the foundation for her career at North Shore Bank since.

“The big reason I was nominated was the work I was doing in Shorewood,” Becky recalls. A former branch manager, she had just moved into business banking as a market manager who coordinated sales for seven branches.

She had also just helped the village of Shorewood create an interest-free loan program for residents undertaking home improvement projects. “They were just trying to make the area more affordable and livable,” she says. “That was a huge program and a big piece of why I was nominated.” The village manager at the time, Chris Schwartz, wrote a letter recommending her for a 40 Under 40 Award.

Her work with the village and as a board member for the Shorewood Business Improvement District was “a catalyst,” Becky says. “I learned I really enjoyed working with municipalities.”

Former North Shore Bank vice president Dennis Christoffel, who retired in 2015, also worked out of the Shorewood branch and was impressed with Becky. He asked her to take over the Municipal Retirement Plan Services department he was largely responsible for launching.

She did. “When Becky was appointed manager of the department, she hit the ground running and never stopped,” says SVP retail banking Sue Doyle. “Under her leadership, they’ve met both business growth and business referral goals every year. Becky is an Energizer Bunny. She is passionate about her job, her customers, and her team, and she excels at making connections that drive business relationships — the same quality that led to her 40 Under 40 win 11 years ago.”

“It was an amazing ride,” Becky says of her win. But, she notes, “I didn’t get to where I am on my own. North Shore is an outstanding bank, with people who care and help everyone grow in their careers, and I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with so many. I wouldn’t be the person I am if I didn’t have great people around me.”
