Debra Hahm marks 25 years of banking this month.

Southridge teller Debra Hahm celebrates 25 years in banking this week. Debbie got her start at Layton State Bank in 1996, as a drive-thru teller. A little more than a year later, a promotion took her to Layton’s Greendale branch, where she worked as a senior teller and head teller. “I even filled in for the personal banker when needed,” she recalls.

In 2016, she came along when North Shore Bank acquired Layton.

“I was facing the unknown, so I felt unsure about a lot,” Debbie says. “And the transition was overwhelming at first. However, I am happy I stuck it out. I have learned a great deal working for North Shore Bank, and I work with a great group as well. I refer to North Shore as my ‘second family.’”

“Debbie is well loved by her customers,” says AVP area manager Carolyn Lancour, who runs the Greendale and Southridge branches. “Since her move from Greendale, she has had a large following of regular customers who visit Southridge just to see her. Her kindness and commitment to her customers are heartwarming.”

“Debbie has always been a pleasure to work with,” says Southridge assistant branch manager Marie Cruz, who came over from Layton as well and has known her for about 20 years. “She is helpful to her customers and they enjoy working with her. I am grateful to have her on my team.”

The feeling is mutual.

“Since I’ve come to work with Carolyn and Marie, I am always learning — and to me, that is a good thing,” Debbie says. “I enjoy challenges.”
