The client didn’t include his name with the flowers, but an inside joke on the card let the team know exactly who’d sent them.

Northside recently received flowers from a customer — as well as a lot more of his business. Here’s the story:

The customer had an account at the branch, but North Shore Bank was not his primary financial institution. Then branch manager Lisa Brooks talked to him on the phone for a loan review and got him approved for a home equity line of credit.

“That led to him visiting us and realizing how much he loved our branch,” she said. “He has since brought his entire relationship to North Shore from his old bank, and loves that he can come in and joke with the staff and feel like himself, and trusts each of us.”

When the giant bouquet arrived at the branch with an inside joke on the accompanying card, the Northside team knew exactly who’d sent it.

“Having this man expand his relationship with us, based off a loan review, because he saw the value of what he got at our office versus what he was not getting at his other bank — it just reminds us why we do what we do every day when we open our front doors,” Lisa said.
