Bank has helped Reinhardt grow over 20 years
“I think I’ve had at least 12 different titles, even more opportunities, and many different business cards over 20 years!” says Becky Reinhardt. Whatever the exact numbers, they amount to two decades of success for the VP and municipal retirement plan services manager. Upon arriving at North Shore Bank, it took her barely a month to start running the Shorewood branch, where her work led to the Milwaukee Business Journal naming her one of the area’s 40 Under 40 in 2010. Five years later, she took over the bank’s unique Retirement Services program.
“North Shore Bank gives every employee the chance to climb, and I was thirsting for that,” Becky says, recalling her feelings in 2002. She talked to Shorelines about her career since then. Read all about it!
Employees raise most money ever for Milwaukee artists
Employees broke donation records for the bank’s in-house campaign supporting the United Performing Arts Fund last week. “We had the MOST EVER number of donors and MOST EVER dollars raised during this campaign!” SVP consumer credit sales Mike Kellman wrote in an email.
The Milwaukee nonprofit helps fund 40 area music, theater, and dance groups, and is a major funder of groups including the Milwaukee Ballet, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Read more about our campaign to benefit these artists!
Know any potential new hires? Refer them!
Talking to the right person could earn you serious money with the bank’s employee referral program! Just ask Kenosha community engagement manager Danielle Hansen. Not only did she earn bonuses for referring qualified job candidates, she also just won $500 in gift cards in our quarterly drawing.
“I just promote North Shore Bank with my experiences over the years and the various opportunities among the different departments,” Danielle said. “It’s easy if you just listen to people and their stories, ask questions, and share experiences. Work is often a common topic, whether you know the person or not.”
For each qualified referral you make, you get a bonus of up to $2,000 (depending on the position), along with incentives including a $100 gift card (given during your referral’s first week on the job) and being entered into the quarterly drawing. More details here!

Work to quiet your mind — it’s worth it
Quieting our minds takes steady work — we must constantly disentangle them from the troubles and pleasures of life. We get stuck on things and must force ourselves to move on. We have to keep working at it, regardless of how tired we are. Is it worth it? It sometimes seems easier to live in constant distraction.
Try this meditation for one minute tonight, or longer if you wish:
PUT EVERYTHING DOWN and pay attention. Can you catch a glimpse of the moon? Notice the streetlights, the sounds, the smells. These little things keep us grounded, root us to our places, to our lives.
The one priority I have…is to keep it simple. To keep it as perfectly bare and simple as possible. And get it down. —Townes Van Zandt, American singer-songwriter
How did this meditation go for you? Share your experience with your fellow North Shore Bank employees at shorelines@northshorebank.com and you’ll be entered to win a copy of Mindfulness in Plain English, by Bhante Gunaratana.
If you’d like a daily email reminder to practice one minute of mindfulness, email us with the subject “Mindfulness reminder.” •••
New Hires for April 28
It’s always exciting to add new members to our team. Here are some of the fresh faces at North Shore Bank.
Shorewood teller Amaii Collins — pronounced uh-my — was born and raised in Milwaukee, and previously worked as a recreation specialist at Running Rebels Community Organization. “I love to read,” she says. “I mean this in the sense that during any downtime I have — even a five-minute break — I will crack open a book and read as many pages as I can retain.” She also grew up with Erb’s palsy, a weakness in her right arm. “But through my life without any form of therapy, I started to use it more and more, and today I use both arms regularly for any task.” •••
Surplus branded jackets (and one blouse) up for grabs!
Attention, ladies! Free jackets (and a shirt) are up for grabs: The bank’s apparel vendor accidentally included extra items in our latest order — and as they are embroidered with the North Shore Bank logo, they’re letting us keep them. So we’re giving them away.
We have 12 white ladies Egmont packable jackets in size XL. Easy to stow and ready to keep you dry, this lightweight jacket packs away into the lower left pocket. It features Shieldtech properties, is water- and wind-resistant, and has a contrast reverse coil center front zipper with easy-grip pull, lower concealed reverse coil zipper pockets, elasticized sleeve cuffs with thumb exit, and back ventilation.
There is also one (1) Port Authority ladies ¾-sleeve tunic blouse in rose quartz, size 4XL. 100 percent polyester crepe. Split V-neck. Roll sleeves with button tabs. Longer tunic length, and gathered back detail.
These items will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, one item per employee. Contact Sheri Livermore to reserve yours. She will notify you about your item next week. •••
Cheese and beer fest raises funds for Kenosha kids
Looking for something to do? Here are suggestions from the bank’s event calendar.
The Dairy State Cheese & Beer Festival takes place this Saturday, April 30, at the Brat Stop in Kenosha. This Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha fundraiser features a variety of Wisconsin cheeses, some of the most sought-after beers from Wisconsin and beyond, and great live music. All proceeds help support after-school programs for at-risk youth. More info here.
North Shore Bank’s next Welcome Party will be held in Green Bay, at Titletown Brewing Company, on Thursday, May 19. The Welcome Party brings together new area residents, neighbors, local businesses, and community organizations for an evening of complimentary food, music, and more fun. The party is free, and interested folks can sign up here.
And the 2022 Milwaukee Dealmakers Conference, presented by North Shore Bank, will take place Tuesday, May 24, at the Pfister Hotel. This event connects hundreds of local dealmakers and offers sessions on topics covering the breadth of the mergers-and-acquisitions landscape. North Shore Bank VP and senior commercial lender Mike Cornell will be part of a panel on building effective capital stacks for acquisitions, real estate growth, and other expansion.
